Supervision CEUs for BCBAs: who needs them and how to offer them

Published April 9, 2026

Supervision CEUs are the most undersupplied type in the behavior analysis ecosystem. BCBAs who provide supervision are required to earn them, but few ACE providers actually offer them. If you have genuine expertise in supervision, this is a category where your content can make a real difference.

Who needs Supervision CEUs?

BCBAs providing supervision to trainees, RBTs, or other professionals. Check the current numbers on the BACB website.

What content qualifies?

Content focused on the practice of supervision itself: models, feedback, structuring sessions, evaluating supervisees. A clinical course that mentions “teach a trainee” is not a Supervision CEU.

How do I design one?

Ground it in the BACB’s supervision requirements. Use supervision scenarios, not clinical scenarios, as case examples. Focus on skills like giving feedback and structuring supervision sessions.

Can Supervision CEUs count as Learning or Ethics too?

No. Each CEU must be designated as one type. If your course touches both, structure it as separate CEU components with separate assessments.

Why are they undersupplied?

They require specific supervision expertise. Many providers default to Learning CEUs because the audience is larger. But the BCBAs who need Supervision CEUs will seek out a provider who offers quality content.

If you supervise and you’re good at it, this is one of the most straightforward categories to build around — because you’re already doing the work. Teach what you actually do.

About CEU Lab Certs

I'm an Org ACE Provider who spent years manually creating CEU certificates and stitching together clunky systems that weren't built for the BACB's changing requirements. I built CEU Lab Certs to be the tool I wished existed — BACB-compliant templates, shareable quiz links, automated certificate delivery, and audit-ready records in one place, so you can spend your time teaching instead of doing certificate admin on a Sunday.
